Poetry, "Makin' Jump Shots"

Image
Poetry Unit: In this photography unit, we set out to take pictures based on the poem of our choosing. We took pictures that directly related to the poem. I chose a poem about basketball and I took some pictures of it. I chose to focus on the journey of the ball with the player and with the shot. The ball carries the emotions of the game throughout each image which is what I really wanted to convey through these photos.

Weston Challenge

Weston Challenge Edward Weston was an American photographer who had many  subjects, including landscapes, still lives, nudes, portraits and much more.  He took photographs that sold for large sums of money and some included pictures of foods.  Westin was very good at creating multiple dynamics within a single photo by using off shaped fruits, or perfect vegetables.  In this assignment, we tried to follow Westin's footsteps by taking pictures of foods and making them the "hero" of the shot.  Here is a collection of four photos with three black and whites and one in color.  This assignment was fun as we could put fruits and vegetables in different scenarios.

Day in my Life

Day in my Life In this assignment, we were assigned to take photos of our day at school and at home.  This piece of narrative photography brought a new aspect to taking photography.  During school, I took photos going to and in my classes.  I took some photos of my friends and how we interacted outside of classes.  The next aspect of this project was a day in our life out of school.  During my winter break, I went to Italy so I took pictures of that instead of pictures at home.  Throughout the assignment, I made the pace of the video much faster and more in sync with the song to get a better narrative.  This was a very fun assignment and my video turned out to be really well.  These are some of the photographs in my video to show what a day in my life at school was like and what a day in my life out of school was like.
